The Deep Heart and the Freedom to Be Myself

Updated: Apr 8

Fr Thomas Dunton, CSJ Bloomington, IL Tuesdays From 6:30-8pm

April 9, 16, 23, 30.

You are invited to partake of this journey over four weeks that will explore our

human hearts, and above all one’s own, principally drawing upon

understandings that we receive from within our Catholic faith. However, an

initial mention will be made as to philosophy’s contribution to know the human

heart. Guided in a spirit akin to that of a retreat, these classes will enable us to

better appreciate the importance of knowing our inner selves for the good of

our spiritual lives, as well as empowering us to live our God-given freedom in an

intentional, heartfelt way. As the Catechism teaches concerning what is the

human heart: “The heart is the dwelling-place where I am, where I live... the

place “to which I withdraw”” (CCC 2563).
